How to Create Momentum
Make no mistake if you want your business to flourish in the new year then you must create momentum now. As I have pointed out repeatedly to my clients, now is NOT the time to go into vacation mode. These next three weeks can literally make or break your upcoming January and set the tone for the upcoming year.
Now is the time to do the following:
1. Write down everything that went well this year and decide if you want to continue doing that action
2. Determine what did not go well this year and create a plan to fix the problem
3. Every December and June I advise doing a "round robin" with all of your staff and you. A round robin is where everybody gets a clipboard, piece of paper and a pen. Everyone sits in a seat in the waiting room and acts as if they were a new patient/client/customer.
You want to look at everything as though it were your first time visiting. Look for dust bunnies, cleanliness of carpeting, tile and walls. Look for things that need repair.
Then, everyone moves to the next chair and looks from that vantage point. Then move on to each room including the bathrooms and do the same exercise.
Doing this regularly will force you to keep up on repairs and the general aesthetics of your office. In short it will save you lots of money because things will be replaced or repaired before they break; your office will always present well; and, your patients/clients/customers will appreciate that they go to a spic and span
office.
4. Evaluate your staff and make adjustments to personnel, training schedules, and look to improve performance next year.
5. The last three months you should have been working on your goals. December is where you should be creating your 12-month marketing calendar. After seventeen years of helping businesses I can tell you with 100% certainty that the clients who create a year-long marketing calendar grow the most-hands down bar none! What would happen if
you did the same?
The stats are almost all in for the year so I thought I would share the early tally:
. 53 businesses were saved from bankruptcy because they chose to work with us
23 clients became millionaires
1 client we saved from suicide
7 marriages were saved
The majority of my clients were up this year between 2%-28% in the face of COVID
While I am ecstatic about those stats, they prove what I am blessed to do every single day. I am not just a business coach.
