Mistakes cost time and money. Part of my job is preventing my clients from making mistakes. Here are some of the more common ones. DON'T DO THESE!
1. Don't fire your accountant, business coach, attorney, insurance agent and key personnel with the thought of handling these tasks by yourself. You hire advisors to prevent you from making business decisions based on emotion. This mistake will cost you serious money.
2. Don't start spending money without a sound budget. Media gurus are going to come out of the wood-work. So is everyone else who will help you ramp up your business. A budget will keep your expenditures in line and it will keep you from overspending in some areas and under-spending in others.
3. Don't sell assets on the way down; sell them on the way up. Think of the economy like a Ferris wheel. It will always go up and down. Always sell on the way up. People always get that one wrong and it costs big!
4. Don't just do the same marketing like you did prior to the crisis. Your prospect is going to have an entirely different set of needs after this crisis. If you do not understand those needs you will waste money and time.
5. Don't start marketing without creating a new vision and market dominating position. Without a market dominating position, the only thing that you can compete upon is price.

2. I would seriously suggest watching videos 1-3 in the Academy of Creative marketing to create a new vision and market dominating position. I would also suggest looking at the social media module.
