Hi
Anybody who personally or professionally knows me can attest to the fact that I have a pretty good crystal ball. This is the really great thing. Whether my crustal ball is right or wrong, you can only benefit from these tips:
1. I am expecting President Trump to issue a complete and total lock-down like in Italy. Now is the time to make sure that you have enough food, medicine and entertainment to tide you over for 2-4 weeks.
2. Make sure that you have enough cash on hand (green, not credit cards). In times of disaster cash is always king.
3. Make sure your business interruption insurance is in place and premiums are up to date.
4. As I have been suggesting over the last two weeks put some sort of service or system in place so you can run your business or a part of your business remotely.
5. Make sure that you are taking care of your health. That is the key. Building up your immune system so if you do come in contact with this or any other virus or bacteria, your body can naturally fight it.
6. Practice gratitude. This is a HUGE INCONVENIENCE. How would this compare if you or a loved one had to go for chemo-therapy? If you or a loved one went blind? If you take the necessary precautions you will recover and be fine in time.
7. I am expecting things to calm down some time in May or June (hopefully sooner). If you do not have an emergency fund now is the time to find money. Your bills are still going to come. Check out Pay pal ($50,000 interest free loan for six months). Check out government programs. Call your bank. Find money now!
8. Take care of those who are less fortunate.
9. Call Elderly family, friends and neighbors. They are alone, afraid and isolated. Call or do a skype visit. They will appreciate it and your heart will be warmed.
10. Read powerful and motivating books that will help you improve your skill-sets.
11. You must evaluate all of your systems. What is and is not working and fix those that are not working. Another crisis will come in the future. Learn from this and make the next crisis easier. Eg. After living through Hurricane Wilma in 2005 I learned that I will always have a full tank of gas in every car if another hurricane or disaster strikes.
12. Is it really the end of the world to be locked up with (hopefully healthy) family members? Get reacquainted with your family.
13. Look for opportunity. The short-term hit on the stock market and quite possibly the housing market will be short-term. In 10, 20 and 30 years from now all will be much, much higher.
14. Look to history. The world survived and thrived after the Bubonic Plague, The Civil War, Kennedy's Assassination, King's Assassination, The Depression, Cuban-Missile Crisis, Nuclear Bomb on Japan, World Wars, Cold War, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, 911, The Arab-Israeli Wars, Serbia-Bosnia and every other negative historical event.
Out of all darkness comes light. This will pass and you and I and the world will survive. How many babies do you think will be born nine months from now? All big storms, quarantines etc. lead to a baby boom. I always say look for opportunity...there you have one.
Obsessed with your success,
Paul Inselman
